Carlee Knight is a dynamic vocalist and accomplished songwriter. She began her career at eight years old playing piano and singing as a soloist for the All-City Choir in Chicago. By the age of 15, she was performing professionally, singing covers of Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, and learning to play guitar in the meantime.
In 1998, Carlee fronted for an original project called Electric Violet. The band, not only toured the mid-western states, but also recorded three successful albums and shared the stage with many great bands and artists.
In 2002, Carlee moved to California to study recording engineering under a two-time Grammy Award winning engineer. At the same time, she was recording her own original songs, performing backup vocals for some amazing musicians, and singing demos for celebrities such as Tina Turner and Hilary Duff.
Carlee went on to sing lead and write songs for a band called Jazmin. The group was invited to India to perform and study under the world-renowned sitar player, Ravi Shankar. There they recorded a live album, which was released on Music Today. Jazmin also won the prestigious San Diego County Battle of the Bands, beating out over 1000 entries.
Currently, Carlee is a session singer in Los Angeles. She is also spending time in the studio recording some of her original songs with a Grammy Award winning engineer and producer.
